A general view of the course

Vocabulary has become viewed as an important aspect in second language learning, in fact, many believe just as important as the main skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
In order to consolidate level B1 of the Common European Framework Reference for Language and move to the higher level B2, it is necessary to acquire a basic vocabulary in a number of semantic fields connected to everyday life, in areas such as  home, health, free time, TV, etc.

Structure of each module

In each unit, an initial presentation introduces the basic vocabulary related to the topic.
The following activities aim at providing learners with opportunities for practising and connecting words in various ways and to stimulate them to retrieve words from memory and use them.
The extensive reading sections show the new vocabulary in real authentic texts.
An entry test and an exit test will allow learners to test their knowledge at the beginning and end of each unit.

With multiple choice tests, the same exercise has a button from moving to the next question:

FAQ

Can I choose any activity in any order?
On the one hand, you can choose any topic you wish in any order.
On the other, units are designed to be studied one after the other. In unit 3 there will be the vocabulary introduced in unit 1, and it will be given for granted.

What is the objective of the extensive reading pages?

Those sections will give you a real feeling of the language as it is used in real life.
One way to improve your reading skills is to try to understand the meaning of new words from the context.
Another reason is to show you how to use the new vocabulary. One thing is to know the meaning of a word, another is to know how to use it.
