In order to support students' learning, the material has been transformed and integrated with interactive materials in order to visually and auditory help the learners.
For both Units, the original text has undergone three different stages of elaboration in order to offer visual, auditory and language support to the students.
Long paragraphs have been revised and structured into short paragraphs and some headings have been provided. An introduction helps the students to get into the topic of unit 1 which is “rubbish”. Paragraphs carrying secondary information have been removed. Paragraphs have been shortened. Keywords have been formatted in bold.
Whole paragraphs have been transcoded into visuals, so as to simplify the meaning of the concepts.

In order to support student’ s learning some tests have been created both for the unit 1 and for unit 2. Their purpose is to check comprehension of the provided material.
The tests have been gathered into two Tests Table of Contents (one for each unit) and it is possible to navigate from one exercise to the other in each unit.
In order to support students with the pronunciation of some main technical terms, a listening and multiple choice activity has been created, using an Audio Editor, a multi media dictionary and Hot Potatoes.
The final assessment test is based on the content of both unit 1 and 2 and is based on a true/false exercise, a multiple choice and a matching activity.
